About Us

Mark was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on December 25th of 1973. An only child, when he was 10 years old his parents decided to move to Las Vegas. Since he was a kid he was passionate about music and computers. Playing percussion since the age of 12, and performing as a DJ in Las Vegas from 1999 - 2002, Mark has had the opportunity to fulfill his passion as an artist. Today, Mark has a career in the field of Network Engineering. Working for one of the largest telecommunications companies in the United States, Mark is a lead architect in designing cutting edge telephone systems that converge voice and the internet into a unified platform.

Gisele is from Brazil, born in Lagoa Vermelha, Rio Grande do Sul. Her parents moved to Natal, the state of Rio Grande do Norte when she was a little girl, along with her two brothers. Gisele always liked to live in Natal, and there is where all her family and friends still living. Gisele is passionate about photography, and is working hard to become a Professional Wedding Photographer. Gisele graduated in Business Management in 2004, and after that, when she was 24 years old, she decided to leave her career in an established Bank Company, to embrace the adventure to go to the United States, with the intention to learn English and understand more about the American culture and lifestyle. In October 5th of 2004, she took a journey from Brazil to Phoenix, AZ., where she first had a taste of the American culture. After a little more than 1 year living in Phoenix, she decided to explore a little further west and began living in Las Vegas. It was this transition to Las Vegas that would change both Mark and Gisele's lives forever...

How we Met (by Gisele)

I always believed in true love, the one you see in romantic movies, and I wanted to have that kind of love in my life. After many years of searching for the right one, I begin to lose hope that I would never find my true love. Suddenly, at the moment I least expected it, Mark came into my life.
 
I moved to Las Vegas in May of 2006. Although Las Vegas is fun and exciting, I found it challenging to make new friends there. So, in June 2006, I created my profile on Myspace.com, a popular web site to make friends, hoping to meet new people in Las Vegas. On July 31st I received a very special message from Mark, and this was the beginning of many more messages that we wrote back and forth. He said in the message that he was not the kind of person to write to people he doesn’t know, but he couldn't resist when he saw my profile because he said we have a lot of things in common. He also said that he used to practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and he also told me about his interest to travel to different countries. That was enough to catch my attention, besides that I thought he was atractive.
 
On August 5th of 2006 we decided to meet. It was a Saturday night and neither one of us had particular plans. I was out with one of my friends deciding where to go, and then I called Mark to tell him that I was going to the Ghost Bar, at the Palms Casino. Coincidentally, Mark was already at the Palms with his friends, and both of us laughed and thought it was cool we are thinking alike. Once I arrived at the Palms, I spotted Mark while he was looking for me and my friend to bring us upstairs to the Ghost Bar. We hit it off right away and had fun talking, dancing and laughing for the rest of the night. At the end of the night, I realized Mark is a special person and I wanted to know him better.

Since that first date, all the free time we had we wanted to spend together. I could feel that both are very comfortable with each other, and I can be myself when I am with him. Mark took me to see the Sunset at the Red Rock Mountain, we went to the Park with the dogs.. having dates like that made me fall in love with him fast, and also we always have so much fun in everything we do together. That make me see how wonderful person Mark is and also he make me feel so special as I never felt before. Since the beginning of our relationship, until now, we get surprised by how we think alike, especially when little coincidences come across, like the one happened in our first date. Today, we believed that we meant to be together and it was our destiny to meet. We finally know what true love is.
